F | Careers in the Intercultural Arena
What exactly is an “intercultural” job, and how can you find one? What education, skills, knowledge, and intercultural experience are essential? How can you either begin or shift your career focus? This interactive session will explore these questions as they apply to the intercultural career interests of the participants.
Faculty: Mary Meares
Dr. Mary Meares is an assistant professor in the Edward R. Murrow School of Communication at Washington State University. Mary has taught intercultural communication in the U.S. and Japan and has consulted for educational and public service organizations in the areas of intercultural transitions and conflict. Her research focuses on intercultural groups, virtual intercultural groups, diversity in the workplace, and issues of voice. She has facilitated virtual group projects with students from China, Japan, Russia, and the U.S. Mary also provides career advising to participants at SIIC.
