G | Intercultural Competencies for Global Project Work
Global project work is increasingly organized around multiple locations with multinational members from a variety of organizations. This diversity provides a valuable range of talents and skills, but it also generates challenges of different expectations about communication and the entire basis of project management and organization. This workshop will examine the impact of a wide variety of cultural differences on project team effectiveness.
Faculty: Carolyn Ryffel
Carolyn Ryffel is the director of Global Training Consultant Network and Curriculum Design, for CARTUS, an intercultural training firm. She is responsible for the overall design of the CARTUS product and the development of their 160-member training consultant team. Her current practice focuses on mentoring and coaching across cultures and developing effective global virtual teams. Carolyn's international experience includes nineteen years working outside the U.S (seven of those in Asia), in China, Nepal, Japan, Germany, Costa Rica, Poland, and Israel in a variety of industries and organizations. Her work in Effective Training Across Cultures spans four continents, over twenty nationalities, and numerous presentations at international conferences on the topic.
