We would like to say THANK YOU to the following local companies for their generous in-kind donations, and for supporting the 2017 Summer Institute for Intercultural Communication.
This last year, Widmer Brothers Brewing donated cases of their delicious craft beer, and Trader Joe’s donated crackers to serve during our evening social hours. In addition, we received donations from Otto’s Sausage Kitchen, Henry Higgins Bagels, Natural Grocers, KIND Snacks, and VISO with products to keep our volunteers energized and working hard, as well as delicious baked goods from Grand Central Bakery and Portland Bakery Delivery!
This community support allows us to direct resources into creating more scholarships, and growing other important programs that support our work.
Throughout the years, ICI has made a significant commitment to the intercultural development of our community and the state of Oregon. For example:
- ICI has provided scholarships for over eighty professionals in Oregon nonprofits to attend SIIC workshops, representing nearly $150,000 in staff development.
- We have a partnership with Portland State University to promote graduate internships and faculty/staff development.
- ICI has provided faculty development for over 150 faculty from Portland Community College, as well as intercultural development for staff at the Oregon Department of Transportation
- ICI helps prepare local and regional government agencies to interface with diverse citizens as employees, clients, and suppliers
We would be honored if you considered ICI for part of your community-giving program. Please let us know if you would be interested in supporting our work at ICI, and our mission of fostering an awareness and appreciation of cultural difference through education.
